This coin is very rare as only 100 pieces were struck by the Perth Mint. The obverse design depicts a pig standing on a bed of flowers.

The delicately frosted design, which appears on a mirror-like table, incorporates the Chinese character for "Pig", the Perth Mint's traditional'P' mintmark and the 2007 Year-date. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the reverse design. The Chinese believe each animal has a profound influence on the personality of those born under its rule. Thus, people born in Year of the Pig (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, and 2007) are regarded as gallant, honest, generous, and intelligent.
